Choose the capacity first
A two-person barrel sauna is easier to place in a smaller garden or patio area. Four-person models provide more seating but require a larger level base and more delivery clearance. Compare the interior dimensions as well as the marketing capacity, especially if taller users will use the sauna regularly.
Plan a level outdoor base
The sauna should sit on a stable, level surface suited to the product and local conditions. Common project bases include concrete, pavers or a properly designed deck. The manufacturer installation requirements should decide the final solution.
Confirm electrical service before delivery
Traditional barrel saunas typically use an electric sauna stove and may require 240V service. Stove output and breaker requirements vary by model. Have an electrician confirm the route and available capacity before the sauna arrives.
Delivery access matters
Check gates, side access, stairs, slopes, overhead obstructions and the distance from the delivery point to the final location. A sauna that fits the finished site can still become difficult to install if the shipping boxes cannot reach it.
