Outdoor Sauna Delivery and Site Preparation: A Practical Checklist

September 28, 2026

Auris Two outdoor cedar sauna from Orivon Wellness for delivery and site-preparation guide

The best time to think about outdoor sauna delivery is before you choose the final model. A sauna can fit the yard on paper and still be difficult to deliver because of a narrow gate, tight turn, uneven base or awkward power route.

Before you order:

Check the final footprint, the route from the street to the site, the base and drainage, and where the electrical connection will come from.

1. Walk the delivery route first

Why access matters · Orivon WellnessAuris Two

Orivon lists the Auris Two at roughly 86 in high × 81 in wide × 86 in long and 1,350 lb. That is exactly why gate width, turns, unloading position and the final route need checking before delivery.

Start at the street or driveway and walk all the way to the intended sauna position. Measure the narrowest gates, steps, side paths, turns and overhangs. If the unit arrives crated, also think about where the freight carrier can leave it and how it gets from there to the final position.

2. Prepare the base before delivery day

The supporting surface needs to suit the sauna and local ground conditions. A level, well-draining base helps with installation and long-term alignment. The exact base depends on the product and site, so follow the manufacturer’s requirements and use a local contractor if you are unsure.

3. Plan drainage and weather exposure

Think about where rainwater runs, whether the area holds water after bad weather and how easy the sauna will be to reach throughout the year. Good placement should make the sauna easier to use, not just easier to fit.

4. Confirm power before the sauna arrives

Another supplier example: Sweaty Yeti lists its Sauna Plunge as requiring a 60 amp electrical connection. Larger wellness structures can have very different electrical needs from compact cabins, so check the exact model before any site work starts.

Check the model’s electrical specification, then ask a qualified electrician to confirm the circuit and route. Avoid leaving the power plan until after delivery.

5. Check the everyday approach

  • Is there a safe, lit route from the house?
  • Will fences, doors or rooflines affect access?
  • Is there enough room to clean and service the sauna?
  • Where will towels and footwear go?
  • Does the location give you privacy without making delivery unnecessarily difficult?

Delivery-day checklist

  1. Confirm the date, contact number and freight instructions.
  2. Clear the route before the carrier arrives.
  3. Have the prepared base finished in advance.
  4. Inspect the crate and product for visible freight damage.
  5. Take photos before moving or unpacking anything if damage is visible.
  6. Keep the packaging and instructions until installation is complete.
