Commercial Golf Ball Pickers Compared: Which Wittek Model Fits Your Range?

The right golf ball picker depends less on which model is “best” and more on the size of the range, the amount of ball collection you do, and how much room the operator has to turn and work around targets, bays and boundaries.

Wittek commercial ball pickers at a glance

Picker Collection width / format Where it fits
Straight Ace One Compact reversible picker Smaller ranges and practice areas
SL90 Junior 7 ft, two-section straight-line Tighter operating areas
3-Gang Eagle Lite 9 ft, three-gang Commercial ranges wanting a lightweight multi-gang layout
SL90 Senior 10 ft 7 in, three-section straight-line Medium to high-volume facilities
5-Gang Eagle Lite 15 ft, five-gang Larger ranges with wider collection paths
SL90 Super 18 ft straight-line High-capacity commercial collection
Range Rover Commercial picker with configurable options Facilities that want to match the setup to a specific workload

Straight-line vs multi-gang pickers

Straight-line pickers such as the SL90 family keep the collection sections aligned across the front of the tow vehicle. They are easy to understand and scale through the Junior, Senior and Super sizes. Multi-gang designs such as the Eagle Lite models use several picker sections across a wider working width.

The decision is mainly operational: how much ground you need to cover per pass, how tight the range is, and how easily the operator can turn around obstacles.

Best fit for a smaller range

The Straight Ace One and SL90 Junior are the first models to look at when manoeuvrability matters more than maximum collection width. The Straight Ace One is reversible and aimed at smaller ranges and practice areas. The SL90 Junior is a compact 7 ft two-section picker.

Best fit for a medium-volume range

The SL90 Senior provides a wider 10 ft 7 in three-section straight-line setup. The 3-Gang Eagle Lite gives another route with a 9 ft lightweight multi-gang design.

Best fit for a larger or busier range

The 5-Gang Eagle Lite expands working width to 15 ft, while the SL90 Super reaches 18 ft in the straight-line family. These are the models to consider when reducing the number of passes is more important than compact manoeuvring.

Where the Range Rover fits

The Wittek Range Rover is positioned as a configurable commercial picker. It makes sense to look at when you want the picker specification matched to the collection workload rather than selecting only by nominal width.

Do not choose the picker in isolation

A faster picker only helps if the washer and ball-handling system can keep up. If collection volume increases, make sure the washing, transport and dispensing stages are sized for the same throughput. Our commercial driving range equipment guide covers the full workflow.

Questions to answer before buying

  • How wide is the usable collection area?
  • How many balls are collected on a normal busy day?
  • How many collection runs do you currently make?
  • Are there tight turns around targets, fencing or structures?
  • What tow vehicle will be used?
  • Can your current washer and dispenser handle increased collection volume?

Need help narrowing the models?

Send us the range dimensions, approximate daily ball volume and the picker you currently use, if any. That is usually enough to narrow the Wittek models worth comparing.
