Why It Stands Out

Key Features

  • 2600 ANSI lumens — bright enough for a home sim bay with some ambient light.
  • 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) — the sharpest tier, so tracers and text stay crisp across a wide screen.
  • Laser light source — roughly 20,000 to 30,000 hours with no lamp to replace.
  • Interchangeable lens — the lens is sold separately, so call us to match one to your room.
  • DLP imaging — sealed optical engine with no filters to clean and no colour drift over time.
  • HDMI to your sim PC — connects straight to the machine running GSPro, E6 CONNECT, TGC 2019 or Creative Golf.

Yes. BenQ projectors connect via HDMI to any sim PC running E6, GSPro, TGC 2019, or Creative Golf. Short-throw models are ideal for sim bays — they minimise shadow interference and keep the arm compact.

1080p Full HD is the standard — most sim software runs natively at 1920×1080. 4K UHD is noticeably sharper if your PC can handle it. WXGA (1280×800) is the entry-level option and still looks great on a 8 to 10 ft screen at short throw distances.

Short-throw models (ST in the name) typically need 2 ft 6 in to 5 ft to produce a 8 to 10 ft wide image. Ultra short-throw (UST) can sit as close as 1 ft to 1 ft 6 in. Standard throw needs 6 ft 6 in to 13 ft. Check the throw ratio in the specs to calculate your exact distance.

Laser and LED models differ by brightness, placement and expected light-source life. Check the product specifications for the model you are considering.

Dark dedicated sim room: 2,500–3,500 lumens is plenty. Room with ambient light: 4,000+ lumens. Commercial venues that can't be blacked out: 5,000+ lumens. Higher lumens also allow a larger screen without losing image brightness.

Warranty coverage varies by model. Check the product specifications for the coverage that applies to the projector you are considering.

A white wall works for movies or gaming. For golf simulation you need an impact screen — the ball physically strikes it and it's built to absorb hits without damage. We stock a range of screens to suit every enclosure size.

What golfers say about BenQ BR9708 4K 2600 Lumen Laser Short-Throw Commercial Venue Projector — Golf Simulator

Collected from manufacturer and distributor listings for this product.

4K laser short-throw at this price point is remarkable. We're running it in a compact simulator bay — the short throw gets a 100" image in a tight room with zero shadow issues. 2,600 lumens is fine for a controlled dark bay environment, which is exactly what we have. Image is crisp and colour accurate. Excellent value for a commercial BenQ unit.

Bought this for a home golf sim. Space-constrained room meant short throw was a must and the 4K laser quality is a step above anything at this budget. E6 Connect looks stunning. Setup was easy — plugged in, corrected keystone, done in 20 minutes. SimGolfer were helpful confirming screen compatibility beforehand.

Third projector I've bought from SimGolfer. The BR9708 is their best value 4K laser for a dedicated dark room. Short-throw design keeps the install clean. Laser source means instant on/off and no lamp costs — important when you're running the sim every day. Very satisfied.

Fitted this in a client's home simulator — they wanted 4K without a huge budget. The BenQ laser short-throw delivered exactly that. Image quality on TGC2019 is impressive. Short throw meant we avoided a complex ceiling mount. Client is delighted and already asking about adding a second screen.
