WXGA Short Throw for Wider Screen Coverage
The ZW350ST's 16:10 aspect ratio suits wider simulator screens with natural coverage across the full display area. Short throw installation keeps the projector out of the swing zone while maintaining a large, clear image.
Practical Performance at Strong Value
High brightness and a proven short throw lens make the ZW350ST a solid performer for simulator rooms. Flexible keystone correction simplifies setup without compromising image quality.

Is This Right For You?
Good fit if: you're building a home or garage simulator on a value-conscious budget, you have room-darkening options but not full blackout, and your enclosure ceiling is short enough that a short-throw mount is the only realistic option. It's also a solid pick for a second bay in a commercial facility where you don't need the sharpest possible display.
Not the right fit if: you want a native 4K image for the sharpest possible scorecard and menu graphics, or you're running a flagship commercial bay where display fidelity is a selling point to paying customers. In those cases, step up to a 4K laser model.
Bottom line: the ZW350ST trades top-tier resolution for a compact, affordable, low-maintenance short-throw laser projector — a practical choice for most single-bay home builds.
Room Size & Mounting Guide
With a 0.521:1 throw ratio, the ZW350ST is designed to sit close to the impact screen rather than far back in the room:
- 100" screen image — roughly 3.3 ft (about 1 m) throw distance
- 120" screen image — roughly 5 ft throw distance
Recommended minimum room dimensions for a comfortable full-swing bay: approximately 15 ft (4.6 m) long, 10 ft (3 m) wide, and 9–10 ft (2.7–3 m) ceiling height, though a short-throw unit like this can work in slightly lower ceilings than a standard-throw projector.
Throw distances above are approximate. Confirm exact figures with Optoma's throw calculator against your specific screen width before cutting enclosure framing — call us at +1 (424) 600 9901 and we'll help size the mount.
What You'll Also Need
The ZW350ST is the display piece of your build. To get a full hitting bay running, you'll also need:
- An impact screen — sized to your throw distance and room width
- A launch monitor — TrackMan, Uneekor, Foresight, or Garmin depending on budget and feature needs
- An enclosure or golf net cage — to frame the screen and contain ball flight
- A hitting mat — with a turf zone and a rough/fairway zone if you want realistic lie simulation
- A short-throw ceiling mount — sold separately, matched to this projector's mounting pattern
- An HDMI cable — long enough to run from your PC/launch monitor to the ceiling-mounted unit
Will It Fit Your Room?

Throw distance is measured from the lens to the impact screen, not from the back wall.
